More Than Code: The 30 Years Behind Every NetSource App

There are thousands of apps in the Shopify App Store, and most of them are exactly what they look like: code. A developer spotted a gap, shipped a feature, and listed it. Plenty of that work is genuinely good. But an app is only ever as smart as the experience behind it, and that is where a NetSource app is a different kind of thing.

We did not start as an app company. We started as a web shop in 1995, and we have spent the three decades since getting paid to make websites make money. Every app we publish carries that history inside it.

Thirty years of making the web pay

NetSource has been a digital partner since 1995. In the years since, we have grown into an award-winning, full-service agency: web design and development, ecommerce, SEO, email, paid search, social, and graphic design, with clients in 48 states and more than 60 industry awards along the way.

None of that is the point on its own. The point is the throughline. For thirty years our work has been judged by one question, the only one that matters to a business owner: did it move the numbers? We do not get to call a project finished when it looks nice. We get to call it finished when it earns. That focus on real results and ROI is the habit of mind we bring to everything, including software.

You do not keep a client for more than a decade on looks. You keep them by making them money, year after year. A lot of ours have stayed that long.

We have sat on your side of the table

Most app developers build for a merchant they have never met. We have spent thirty years being the people on the hook for the result. We have run the campaigns, answered for the conversion rate, watched real shoppers move through real stores, and felt the sting of a checkout that leaks.

So when we build an app, we are not guessing at what a store owner needs. We have lived it. That experience is why our apps are shaped the way they are. It is the reason one of them is obsessed with blocking bad orders and recovering abandoned quotes, and another is obsessed with turning search into measurable revenue. Those are not features a developer dreams up in a vacuum. They are the problems that cost our clients money, solved.

Built like agency work, not a weekend project

Each NetSource app is the productized version of work we used to do by hand, for real clients, again and again, until it made sense to harden it into software.

Configurator came out of catalogs that kept slamming into Shopify's 100-variant ceiling, and customers who kept ordering combinations that could never ship. Prism Search and Merchandising came out of watching high-intent shoppers type into a search box, get nothing back, and leave. We did not invent those problems to sell an app. We met them on client projects, fixed them the hard way, and then built the tool we wished we had started with.

The partner is the product

When you install a NetSource app, you are not getting an anonymous developer's side project that may or may not be around next year. You are getting thirty years of agency judgment baked into software, and the same team that has kept clients loyal for a decade standing behind it.

That is the NetSource difference. It is the reason this blog has that name, and it is the reason our apps tend to feel less like a feature and more like a partner who has done this before.
